Waaaaay back in July 2015, one of the very first hikes our family took in New Zealand was in Coronation Reserve. Sadly, we leave Christchurch on Friday, so today we went up to the very same section of trail and enjoyed the beauty all around us.

Overlooking the harbour. The road in the background is Dyer’s Pass, one of only a couple roads that connects the city of Christchurch with this side of the hills on the Banks Peninsula.
Another denizen of the bush, a kereru (New Zealand wood pigeon).
Two of my dears.
A fantail (piwakawaka), one of the friendliest NZ birds, fluttered around us.
Sweet little thing.

(On the left, today. On the right, last July!)
