Second Spring 2015

Christchurch is (finally) emerging from winter. Our second winter of 2015. Spring arrived relatively late this year, according to several locals who have apologetically revised their promises of when we could expect warmer weather and more sunshine.

Now that it’s here, though, spring is seducing us again and helping me forget the last three months of winter (albeit a fairly temperate one, by northeastern U.S. standards). Today we have the windows thrown open and the delicious promise from the weather report that tomorrow will hit 70 degrees!

This afternoon the girls and I went to Ilam Gardens, just around the corner from our house. Here are some photos from the delightful paths and flowering plants we saw there.

Rhododendron; under the cherry trees; mama duck (she had two ducklings); the girls were in love with the daffodil forest
